Malaysian Gurdwaras Council: Press Statement on Court of Appeal decision on Saravanan v. Subashini
One Federal Court decision on point is TAN SUNG MOOI (F) v. TOO MIEW KIM (1994) 3 CLJ 708 where 5 Federal Judges unanimously held:
“It would result in grave injustice to Non-Muslim spouses and children whose only remedy would be in the Civil Courts if the High Court no longer has jurisdiction, since the Syariah Courts do not have jurisdiction over non-muslims”. (more…)

It is really past cliche that Barisan Nasional (‘BN’) is in essence headed by the United Malays National Organisation (‘UMNO’). The poison eminating from within UMNO continues to cripple BN and in turn the nation.
The Prime Minister, having started going through the motions of presenting the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) Bills in Parliament, has made it to clear to all and sundry that any talk about true reform is merely an eye wash. The Executive does not appear able to allow the independent functioning of all pillars required in a nation.
The answer to the subject question is thus short and sweet:
